1. Introduction and acceptance

These Terms of Service govern your use of parloh, operated by [Legal entity name — to be completed before launch], a company incorporated under the laws of [jurisdiction] ("parloh", "we", "us").

By using parloh in any capacity — scanning a QR code, purchasing a parloh Pass, creating a business listing, or redeeming a promo code — you accept these terms in full. If you do not accept them, do not use parloh.

These terms are governed by the laws of [governing law jurisdiction — to be completed before launch]. Where a term is unenforceable in your jurisdiction, the remaining terms continue in full force.

This document contains placeholders for the legal entity name and governing jurisdiction. These must be completed before parloh accepts its first paying customer. See also: Privacy Policy.

2. The parloh platform

parloh connects tourists with local businesses through QR-code check-ins. Businesses set a maximum discount; parloh calculates the amount each tourist receives based on their loyalty tier. Businesses control their discount amounts within parloh's minimum and maximum guidelines.

parloh facilitates discounts but does not guarantee them. Where a business fails to honour a valid discount code, parloh's liability is limited to the remedies described in Section 6.

parloh operates in multiple cities. Not all features are available in all cities. The parloh Pass covers only cities marked as active in the parloh directory.

3. For tourists

Check-in codes

When you scan a business's parloh QR code and submit your details, parloh issues a single-use discount code. That code:

  • is valid for 48 hours from the time of issue
  • is single-use and non-transferable — it may only be redeemed by you
  • is issued subject to the business's current discount offering, which may change

You must provide accurate contact information. Fake or invalid contact details void the code. Attempting to claim multiple codes through multiple check-ins within the rate-limit window will result in a temporary block.

Loyalty tiers

Your parloh tier is determined by the number of distinct parloh businesses you have ever visited across all cities:

TierRequirementDiscount received
BronzeDefault — no minimum50% of the business's maximum
Silver3 or more distinct businesses visited65% of the business's maximum
Gold5 or more distinct businesses visited + active parloh Pass required100% of the business's maximum

Tiers are recomputed on every check-in. Bronze and Silver are free and require no subscription. Gold requires an active parloh Pass — without a Pass, tourists with 5+ businesses are capped at Silver.

parloh may introduce additional tiers (for example Platinum, for 200+ businesses and 100+ confirmed referrals with an active Pass). Current Platinum rules are described in the platform and may change.

Tier decay

If you stop scanning at parloh businesses, your tier will eventually decay:

  • Gold or Platinum → Silver after 12 months without a scan at any parloh business worldwide.
  • Silver → Bronze after 18 months without a scan.
  • Bronze never decays.

One scan at any parloh business resets the clock for a full period. Active Pass holders are exempt from tier decay for the duration of their Pass subscription. parloh will send you email notifications approximately 90 days and 30 days before any scheduled decay.

parloh Pass

The parloh Pass is an annual subscription that guarantees minimum discounts at all enrolled businesses before you even walk in.

Pass typeCoveragePrice
City PassAll enrolled businesses in one parloh city$60 USD / year
All Cities PassAll enrolled businesses in all active parloh cities$99 USD / year

Pass entitlements:

  • At every Pass-enrolled business, you receive at minimum the Bronze-tier discount (50% of the business's maximum), regardless of your actual tier.
  • If your tier-based discount is higher than the Pass minimum, you receive the higher amount. Discounts never stack — you receive one amount, whichever is greater.
  • A City Pass applies only to the city named at purchase. An All Cities Pass applies to all currently active parloh cities.
  • The Pass is non-transferable and tied to the email address used at purchase.

Refund policy: Full refund within 48 hours of purchase if no parloh business has been visited. No refund after the first discount is redeemed. A pro-rata refund may be available for cancellation requests submitted after 30 days with documented cause — email legal@parloh.app with your purchase receipt and reason.

Referral programme

Your referral link contains a unique 6-character code generated when you first view your parloh passport. Share this link with other travellers.

A referral is confirmed when the person you referred redeems their first parloh discount code. Confirmed referrals count toward your lifetime referral total.

Referral acceleration: When you reach 2 or more confirmed referrals, parloh activates a 30-day acceleration window during which each of your check-ins counts double toward tier progression. This window is capped at 10 doubled visits. Acceleration cannot raise your tier above Gold — Gold requires an active Pass regardless.

Referrals confirmed at unusual velocity (more than 10 in any 24-hour period) are placed on hold for review. parloh reserves the right to cancel referrals found to be fraudulent, self-referrals, or generated through automated means. Confirmed fraud may result in account suspension.

Promo codes for tourists

Tourist promo codes (format: PARLOH-XXXX-XXXX) activate a temporary parloh Pass for the stated duration (typically 7 or 14 days). One promo code per email address. Promo codes are non-refundable once redeemed. At expiry, the temporary Pass closes automatically — no action required.

Behaviour

The following will result in platform-wide suspension:

  • Providing fake contact information when checking in
  • Attempting to abuse the discount system through multiple accounts or fake phone numbers
  • Repeatedly claiming discount codes without redeeming them
  • Abusive behaviour toward business owners or parloh staff

4. For business owners

Listing requirements

By creating or claiming a parloh listing, you confirm that you are an authorised representative of the business. Your listing must accurately represent the business, including category, location, hours, and the discounts you have configured.

Refusing a valid, unredeemed parloh discount code presented by a tourist is a breach of these terms and may result in removal from the platform.

You may not inflate your standard prices for tourists presenting parloh codes. The discount applies to your standard pricing.

Discount commitments

The minimum discount on parloh is 10%. The maximum is 50%. The system will not accept values outside this range.

For businesses with loyalty tiers enabled (Pro plan), the discount a tourist receives is computed from your maximum setting as follows:

  • Bronze tier: greatest(10%, round(max × 50%))
  • Silver tier: greatest(10%, round(max × 65%))
  • Gold tier: your full maximum discount

You set the maximum. parloh manages what each tier receives. You may not offer a discount that is lower than the minimum, or configure tiers to undercut the amounts above.

Businesses offering 20% or more must list at least one service price on their public profile. Public price listing is required to prevent inflated pricing. Businesses found inflating base prices to offset discounts are subject to listing removal.

Compliance and enforcement

parloh operates a complaint system. Tourists may submit a complaint after redeeming a discount code if the business did not honour it.

  • 2 or more complaints within any 90-day window causes a "Discount Unconfirmed" label to appear on your listing. This label signals to tourists that your discount has not been confirmed recently. It is removed when the complaints are resolved to parloh's satisfaction.
  • Unresolved complaints may result in reduced visibility in parloh search results.
  • Persistent non-compliance, repeated complaints, or payment failure may result in listing suspension.
  • In serious cases, parloh may place an account under review. During an account review, your QR code may be deactivated while the review is in progress. parloh will contact you at the email address on your account.

parloh reserves the right to remove or delist any listing at its sole discretion. Account reviews last no longer than 90 days per cycle before a decision is made.

Pass enrollment (Pro plan only)

Enrolling in the parloh Pass directory means that every active Pass holder receives, at minimum, the Bronze-tier discount at your business on every visit — without scanning your QR code first.

By enrolling, you agree to honour the Pass minimum for every valid Pass holder, at all times, without exception. You may not refuse a Pass holder on the basis of occupancy, time of day, or any other operational reason without extraordinary cause.

You cannot unenroll from the Pass directory mid-month without contacting support@parloh.app. You may self-suspend temporarily for closures or renovations without losing enrollment.

Pass directory enforcement follows the complaint system described above, with the following addition: three complaints (or an unresolved second complaint) within 90 days results in removal from the Pass directory. Your subscription continues, but you will no longer appear to Pass holders.

Promo codes for businesses

One promo code per business, ever. Business promo codes (format: PARLOH-XXXX-XXXX) grant the stated plan (Starter or Pro) for the stated duration (30 or 60 days). Promo codes are:

  • non-transferable — they may only be redeemed by the business they were issued to
  • non-stackable — a business may not use more than one promo code in total
  • non-extendable — the stated plan and duration cannot be changed after redemption
  • non-refundable once redeemed

Subscription and billing

PlanPriceFeatures
Free CRMFree (requires 10%+ discount)QR code, contact dashboard, limited WhatsApp sends
Starter$15 USD / monthUnlimited sends, full contact details, CSV export
Pro$25 USD / monthStarter + loyalty tiers, Pass directory, cross-business return detection

New accounts receive a 14-day free trial of the selected paid plan. Subscriptions are billed monthly. You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

Failed payment: a 7-day grace period applies, during which all features remain active. After 7 days, the dashboard becomes read-only and the QR code deactivates. After 14 days the subscription lapses. Contacts and history are never deleted — reactivating payment restores full access immediately.

On cancellation: your QR code deactivates at the end of the billing period. Contact data collected during your subscription remains accessible for 30 days after cancellation, after which it is deleted.

Business subscription refunds: no refunds on monthly charges. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us within 14 days.

5. Platform rules — both parties

  • No automated check-ins — bots, scripts, or other automated means of generating discount codes are prohibited.
  • No fake reviews or fabricated complaints.
  • No impersonation of parloh staff or other users.
  • Contact data collected through parloh may only be used for direct customer communication. It may not be exported, shared, or sold to third parties.
  • No use of the platform for activities that are illegal in Vietnam, Thailand, or Indonesia.

Violations of platform rules may result in immediate suspension without notice.

6. Limitation of liability

parloh is a marketplace. We facilitate connections between tourists and businesses. We do not guarantee that a business will honour a discount code, that a tourist will redeem a code, or that any transaction will take place.

parloh is not liable for disputes between tourists and businesses, including disputes about the size of a discount, the quality of a service, or the accuracy of a business profile.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, parloh's total liability to you for any claim arising from or related to these terms or your use of parloh is limited to the total amount you have paid to parloh in the 12 months immediately preceding the date of the claim. In no event is parloh liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.

7. Dispute resolution

If you have a dispute with parloh, contact support@parloh.app first. We aim to respond within 5 business days and to resolve most disputes without escalation.

If a dispute cannot be resolved through direct contact, it will be submitted to the courts of [jurisdiction — to be completed before launch], which shall have exclusive jurisdiction.

8. Changes to these terms

parloh may update these terms from time to time. For material changes, we will notify you by email to the address on your account at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of parloh after a notification constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Minor updates (corrections, clarifications that do not affect your rights) take effect immediately and are reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
